Funeral Ministry

Descriptions

Altar Server: Boys and girls grades 5 and up, and men and women of any age to assist the priest and deacon at funeral liturgies.

Eucharistic Minister: Assist the priest in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ during liturgy.

Hospitality Minister: Provide friendly welcome for parishioners and visitors. Duties include seating assistance, communion ushering, checking pews and church after Mass, and general assistance when needed.

Reader: Proclaim scripture at funeral liturgy.

Sacristan: Prepare worship space and coordinate all liurgical ministeres before, during, and after liturgy. First one to arrive, last one to leave liturgy.

Time Commitment

About 1 to 3 hours (depending on position) as needed on weekdays and/or weekends throughout the year. Attend initial training.

Talent to Share

Willingness and desire to serve. Dependable, good at working with people, knowledge of liturgy.
