Baptism

The gateway to the Christian life. St. Michael Parish is committed to welcoming parents and assisting them in their role as the primary educators in the faith life of their child, and offering support as that child grows and matures. In response to that commitment, St. Michael Parish offers a process of preparation for parents who present their child for baptism.
 
To begin, please call the parish office (517-627-8493) to sign up for a Baptism preparation class. Both parents are asked to attend unless extraordinary situations prevent them, and godparents are encouraged to attend.
 
Baptism is normally celebrated at St. Michael Parish within the Sunday liturgy. It is the community of faith along with the parents and godparents who in the Rite of Baptism promises their assistance and guidance to the child as he/she grows in faith.
