Altaration focuses on the question “what's the point?” of going to Mass and having an authentic faith life. Your student will explore and discover why they are here, why God created them, and what he created them for. This process enables them as a believer to identify a purpose, mission, and plan for one’s life. In this process, they will come to see that there is a lot more going on at Mass than they ever imagined.
Theology of the Body for Teens is a revolutionary teaching given to us by Pope John Paul II. He says our bodies are holy and good. In this program, teens will discover the beauty and purpose of their sexuality, and why it is such a major part of our ability to love. Instead of dwelling on the consequences of impurity, this curriculum shows the deeply satisfying freedom that comes from having a pure heart. The students will come to understand that Jesus’ love on the cross and sexual love in God’s plan are related. They will be encouraged and taught a course of action that leads to freedom and happiness.
This is a combined class of both 7th and 8th-grade students.
Sarah Fuller will be serving as your child's teacher this year. From Sarah: "I have spent my entire life at St. Michael Parish. I went to school here. I was married here. And my kids went to school here. This will be my 3rd year teaching Religious Ed to 7th & 8th graders. I love teaching outside of the box. My class is entirely hands on. My goal at the end of every class is to have the student pumped about what they just learned and excited to share it. My #1 goal is for the students to get to know Jesus on a personal level. To see Him in everything, everywhere. And to know He is always available to them."
